Some people have incredibly short commutes, like to their living rooms (if they telecommute from their living rooms). However, there are still many people, especially those in urban centers, who face an hour or more in transit back and forth to their offices. Within our Lakeside Events meetings, we like to share some of our favorite practices to optimize our commute time. Let’s discuss some of our favorites.
For those who like to stay organized, voice apps like AudioNotes are great to dictate to-do lists while on the go. Another benefit of this app is to help us capture our ideas. As we’ve observed within the Lakeside Events office, we tend to have spurts of productivity and personal brainstorming sessions as we ride into work. With this app, we don’t have to try to remember them or possibly lose these innovative thoughts.
Another way we can make our commute efficient is to listen and learn. Podcasts, books on tape, and other audio lessons are all good options. Our Lakeside Events culture is rich in knowledge transfer. Therefore, we seek learning opportunities. For example, we might listen to an industry or professional development podcast. We might learn to speak a new language. The possibilities are endless.
Optimizing our time is one of our goals as a team.
